ABOUT
I am an Associate Professor of Sociology at Ritsumeikan University's College of Global Liberal Arts. I have received my Ph.D. in Sociology from Yale University. My research and teaching interests are in politics, ideologies, social theory, and comparative-historical social science with a strong and interdisciplinary focus on the historical roots and outcomes of revolutionary processes and political conflict.
Before coming to Yale, I pursued a master's degree in Political Science at Sabanci University, and received my bachelor's in Computer Engineering at Bogazici University.

I was lucky to be born in the greatest city in the world, Istanbul, where I spent most of my life. I have also lived for various periods in Dalarna, Sweden; London, UK; Berlin, Germany; and Boston and Providence, US.
